Executive Chefs from local restaurants will gather to create three-course meals using ingredients from MwC’s own pantry. Assisted by local celebrity Sous Chefs, they will have 45 minutes to slice, dice and prepare a delicious three-course meal. A panel of judges, including last year’s winner Chef Alan Worman from Mangia Mangia, will sample each team’s creations and determine the winner based on taste, presentation, best use of ingredients and creativity. This event is designed to highlight the challenges MwC’s kitchen faces each day when preparing delicious, nutritious meals – sometimes without staple ingredients like eggs, milk or butter – for over 300 people daily.
Executive Chefs this year includes Bravo! BOLD, Casa Bolero, Food Dance, Martells, North Eleven and WMU Fetzer Center.
As guests witness this heated competition, raffle tickets can also be purchased for two chances to win a book of five $50 gift certificates to area restaurants (a $250 value). There will also be a silent auction featuring a dinner for six prepared by the winning Chef!
